KALIA Yojana 2023 latest update
KALIA Yojana, also known as the Farmers Assistance for Livelihood and Income Growth Scheme, was launched by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, with the aim of providing financial assistance to landless farmers. The Odisha government has allocated a significant budget for this scheme, showcasing its commitment to the welfare of farmers.
In the previous year, KALIA Yojana extended its benefits to over 43 lakh farmers in Odisha. To participate in the program, farmers must apply and have their names listed on the KALIA Yojana List, maintained by the state government.
Recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik disbursed Rs 869 crore to farmers as part of the KALIA Yojana, benefiting more than 41.85 lakh small and marginal farmers. The funds, amounting to Rs 2,000 per eligible farmer, were directly deposited into their bank accounts.
KALIA Yojana 2023 details
On the occasion of Nuakhai in Odisha, around 4.1 million beneficiaries will receive the latest installment of financial aid, providing each farmer with Rs 2,000. This amount is transferred directly to their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) option. Eligible farmers will receive this assistance twice a year, coinciding with Akshaya Tritiya and Nuakhai festivals.
Support During Akshaya Tritiya
In May, on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, more than 40 lakh small and marginal farmers received financial assistance through the KALIA program. The government has also allocated a substantial budget of Rs 20,000 crore to bolster the agricultural sector, reaffirming its commitment to farmers’ welfare and agricultural development.
KALIA Yojana New List
The KALIA Yojana has released several lists to keep beneficiaries informed. The latest and final list, accessible online, includes the names of successful enrollees who will receive financial assistance ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 40,000 annually. The program extends various benefits, including security coverage, in addition to financial aid.
The Chief Minister of Odisha distributed Rs 742.58 crores to beneficiaries of the KALIA Yojana during the Rabi season of 2021. Each eligible farmer received Rs 2,000 through DBT, benefiting a total of 37.12 lakh farmers.
Financial Assistance and Benefits
The Odisha government, in response to the pandemic, allocated Rs 386 crore to the bank accounts of 18 lakh landless farmers through the KALIA Yojana. Each recipient received Rs 1,000, providing support during these challenging times.
Apart from direct financial assistance, KALIA Yojana offers various benefits to farmers, such as interest-free crop loans, life insurance coverage, financial aid for farming households, support for landless livelihood activities, and assistance for small and marginal families during adverse weather conditions.
Odisha KALIA Yojana 2023 budget
Over the past three fiscal years, a total of Rs 6690.86 crore has been invested in KALIA Yojana, benefitting over 104.60 lakh small-scale, low-income, and landless agricultural families. The program has played a pivotal role in empowering rural communities.
The Odisha government has allocated a budget of approximately Rs 5115 crores, extending the program’s reach to more beneficiaries. This budget ensures that the scheme continues to support farmers and enhance their livelihoods.
KALIA Yojana New Beneficiary List 2023
